Tuesday September 7, 6-9 p.m
TELEPATHY
plays at the Old 5 Mile House. John Girton and Bill Douglass: jazz! Old 5 Mile House is 5 minutes from Nevada City on Rt. 20. No cover. Great food, drinks, desserts. 265-5155.
The duo will also play on Tues. Sept 21 at the Old 5 Mile House, same hours.
   
   

Sunday, Sept 12 at 5:00pm
Kosako Quartet with Motoshi Kosako, harp; Bill Douglass, bass and chinese bamboo flute; Kit Bailey, drums, percussion; Joe Berry, tenor sax. The whole family is welcome since this is a restaurant. JB's Lounge at the Red Lion Inn, 1401 Arden Way, Inside the Red Lion Inn, Sacramento, CA 95814 (916) 922-8041. $8 at the door.

Thursday Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Motoshi Kosako and Bill Douglass will play Jazz Harp and Bass duos at Grass Valley Center for The Arts. They are sharing the evening with virtuouso guitarist, Ian Ethan, who plays the two-neck guitar. Center for the Arts is located at 314 W.Main St, Grass Valley, CA 95945 (530)274-8384. $20.

   

True Jazz Stories Blog
A new feature of the Sierra Jazz Society is the True Jazz Stories blog. These will be stories by the faculty of SJS Jazz Camp. How did they get started? What were/are their influences? What are some notable musicians they played with? Stories from the road. Coming soon!

  1. Hold a fundraiser party at your house. SJS will supply the music, the cleanup crew and dessert. Do you have generous friends who'd like to go to a party with good music which they'd be willing to support? Contact Us
  2. Consider volunteering some of your time. We need someone who is web saavy to add to the list of links into SJS. We also need someone who is good at grant writing. Again, Contact Us.
