FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Jazz Camp 2008 is our seventh year.
  • Jazz Camp is for all ages and levels. Instrumentalists must be able to play 5 scales well (C, F,Bb, G, and D). Vocalists must be able to match pitch and have several tunes from the jazz standards repertoire prepared (with the accompanying lead sheet) when camp begins. If you can’t meet these requirements, either practice a lot (!) or consider attending Junior Junior Camp.
  • Ongoing Jazz Workshops with Bill Douglass, Stephanie Bruce, Bob Claire, Al Bent, Ken French and Nora Nausbaum are available throughout the year.
  • Jazz Camp 2007 had approximately 45 participants, with the age ranging from 10-75 years old.
  • The Final Concert at Jazz Camp 2007 was very well attended, universally enjoyed and took place at The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley.
  • The Sierra Jazz Society has the great support of:
